HISTORY
Valley Land Fund was founded in 1986 as a land protection organization willing to take risks and act quickly and cooperatively to protect important conservation lands in Franklin, Hampden, and Hampshire Counties of Western Massachusetts. Since then, acting alone and with its many public and private sector partners, VLF has saved over 8,000 acres of the special places of the Connecticut River Valley: prime farmland, scenic vistas, drinking water supplies, productive forestland, critical habitat for threatened plant and animal species, and important recreational resources such as river access points and trail corridors.
