Land We Steward
Valley Land Fund holds Conservation Restrictions on 10 properties totaling over 550 acres across the Connecticut River Valley.  These properties are located in Agawam, Chesterfield, Hadley, Hatfield, South Hadley, Sunderland, and Williamsburg. Each Conservation Restriction protects a property for a particular purpose, whether rare species habitat, wetland, large forest block, or a combination of ecological values. In each case, the landowner owns and maintains the land, while VLF ensures that the terms of the Conservation Restriction are upheld. 

Our Stewardship Committee monitors these properties annually. Members meet regularly to walk properties, assess their condition, and to confirm boundaries. In addition, the group is working to post signs on all VLF land. Buying land and monitoring it is at the heart of our mission.
